Timeless Danube

Departure Date: September 11, 2026

Below are answers to some of the most common questions about the Timeless Danube journey.

Excursions and Activities

What excursions are included in the package?
Excursions are included on most days. These may include walking tours, panoramic driving tours, cultural experiences, a dance class, and a folklore dinner evening. Some of the included guided excursions on the Timeless Danube journey are the Vienna Imperial Discovery Tour, Budapest Castle Hill & Historic Wonders, Esztergom, Visegrád Castle and Szentendre, Bratislava Beauty on the Danube, and a Linz walking tour with a visit to the Ars Electronica Center. Full details can be found in the itinerary on the Timeless Danube journey page.

What kind of optional excursions are available?
Optional excursions are available at an additional cost and vary by destination. These may include Dürnstein with Abbey visit and wine tasting, Schönbrunn Palace, Puszta, the equestrian traditions of Hungary, Flavours of Budapest, and Vineyard Raca and the Carpathian wine region. Please speak with your Craig Travel sales specialist at the time of booking, as some optional excursions have limited space and must be reserved in advance to avoid disappointment.

Accommodations

Do all cabins have windows?
Yes, all cabins have windows, but the type varies by deck and category:

C1–C4 Cabins (Haydn Deck): These cabins generally have small, fixed panoramic windows that do not open.

Higher-Deck Cabins (Strauss and Mozart Decks): These cabins feature drop-down panoramic windows that create a "French Balcony" effect, allowing for a floor-to-ceiling opening.

Cabin size and layout also vary by category.

Can I choose the location of my cabin?
Cabins are assigned based on category and availability. You may request a specific deck or location, but this cannot be guaranteed. All cabins are outside cabins with windows.

Flights and Group Travel

Are we travelling as a group or joining the group at the destination?
If you booked airfare through Craig Travel, including group flights from Toronto and select Canadian gateways, you will travel as part of the group. Travellers gather in Toronto for the direct flight to Prague on September 11, 2026. If you booked your own airfare but are on the same flight, you will be part of the group as well. If you booked land only, you will make your way independently to Prague to join the group there. We can help arrange an airport or ship transfer for an additional cost.

Journey Leader

When will we meet our Journey Leader?
Your Journey Leader, Lynda Falcone, will contact booked travellers closer to departure with pre trip information and to answer any questions. You will meet her in person either in Toronto for the group flight or in Prague, depending on your travel arrangements.

Daily Schedule

What are the typical daily activity times? Are there early mornings or late nights?
Most days begin with an early risers continental breakfast around 6:00 to 7:00 am. Morning excursions usually start between 8:00 and 9:00 am.
Dinner is typically served around 7:00 pm, followed by relaxed evening entertainment such as live music in the Panorama Bar until approximately 10:00 or 11:00 pm. The overall pace is comfortable and not overly hectic.

Onboard Amenities

Is Wi-Fi available on board and is it included?
Wi-Fi is available on board for an additional fee, usually around €50 for the week. Service can be unreliable in rural areas and pricing is subject to change. Craig Travel will provide all travellers with an eSIM that includes 5 GB of data. Instructions will be sent before departure, along with 24/7 support for installation. Connectivity is subject to local network coverage and signal availability, and service quality cannot be guaranteed at all times.

Are bicycles available on board?
Yes. Complimentary bicycles are available for independent use during port stops. Helmets and accessories are provided. Bicycles can be reserved through Reception, ideally one day in advance. Use is at your own risk.

What drinks are included with meals?Dinner includes wine, coffee, tea, and water. Coffee and tea are also available 24 hours a day in the AMADEUS Club, a dedicated area on the ship. Special events, including the Welcome Cocktail Reception & Dinner and the Gala Dinner, also include drinks.

Mobility and Walking

Is a lot of walking required? What if I use a walking cane?
Many excursions involve walking on uneven surfaces such as cobblestones and may include stairs. Comfortable walking shoes are strongly recommended.
Walking canes are permitted. Elevators serve most decks except the sun deck. Some excursions may not be suitable for guests with more severe mobility limitations.

Dietary Requirements

I have dietary restrictions. Can they accommodate my needs?
Yes. Requests such as lactose intolerance, gluten free, vegetarian, or other dietary needs can usually be accommodated. Vegetarian options are always available.
Please inform your travel advisor at least 60 days before departure. While every effort is made, cross contamination cannot be fully guaranteed, and very strict dietary requirements may not be possible.

Evening Entertainment

What entertainment is offered in the evenings?
Evening entertainment is relaxed and may include live music, social time in the Panorama Bar, cultural performances, a dance class, and a folklore evening specific to this cruise. The focus is on enjoyment and atmosphere rather than late night activity.

Payments and Discounts

Can the final payment be made by e-transfer and still receive the cheque discount?
Yes. The final payment can be made by e-transfer and you will receive the same discount that applies to cheque payments. The full amount must be transferred. If your bank has daily e-transfer limits (for example, $2,500 per day), you will need to start making payments several days before the final payment date to ensure the last transfer covers the remaining balance in full. Final payment can also be made by credit card (Visa or Mastercard) or bank transfer, but these methods do not qualify for the final payment discount.
