Holland and Belgium
Witness Holland & Belgium in Full Bloom
Departure Date: April 13, 2027
Below are answers to some of the most common questions about the Holland & Belgium River Cruise
Activity Level & Accessibility
Q: I can’t walk long distances. Is this trip suitable for me?
A: The tour is labelled as slightly challenging. Some excursions involve walking over uneven surfaces or cobblestones, and some ship and shore access may have steep steps. Guests should be able to walk about a kilometre. Most days offer 2–3 excursion options at different activity levels, so you can choose what suits you best.
Q: Are bicycles available on the cruise?
A: Yes, bicycles can be rented for optional bike tours. Walking tours and other excursions are also offered, so you can pick activities that match your interests and abilities.
Packing & Dress Code
Q: What is the dress code on the cruise?
A: There is no formal dress code—casual attire is fine. A packing guide will be sent with final documents.
Onboard Services & Amenities
Q: Can dietary restrictions be accommodated on board?
A: Yes. List any dietary needs on your medical form after booking. Pre-ordered kosher meals are available on Holland and Belgium cruises, though these are frozen and must be requested 30–60 days in advance.
Q: Is there Wi-Fi available on the cruise?
A: Yes, Wi-Fi is free throughout the ship.
Flights & Travel Logistics
Q: Can I fly directly from Halifax instead of joining the group flight in Toronto?
A: Yes. While our group flight meets in Toronto for departure to Amsterdam, you can request a direct flight from Halifax (or another city). Our sales agent can provide a quote.
Group & Booking Information
Q: What is the typical group size for a Craig Travel cruise?
A: We aim for 24 Craig Travel guests. The ship may carry up to 160 passengers.
Q: How far in advance should I book this cruise?
A: Booking 12–18 months in advance is recommended for the best cabin selection.
Q: Will we be travelling as a group?
A: Guests booking through Craig Travel fly together to Amsterdam. Land-only guests meet the group there. Airport transfers can be arranged for a fee.
Solo Travellers
Q: I am travelling alone. How can I avoid paying a single supplement?
A: Single cabins are available. Please visit our website for more information. To avoid the supplement, consider our CT Match program, which pairs solo travellers of the same gender to share a cabin. Early sign-up is recommended as availability is limited.
Travel Insurance
Q: Is travel insurance required for this cruise?
A: Travel insurance is not required but highly recommended. Contact sales [at] craigtravel.com for a free quote.
Payments and Discounts
Q: Can the final payment be made by e-transfer and still receive the cheque discount?
A: Yes. The final payment can be made by e-transfer and you will receive the same discount that applies to cheque payments. The full amount must be transferred. If your bank has daily e-transfer limits (for example, $2,500 per day), you will need to start making payments several days before the final payment date to ensure the last transfer covers the remaining balance in full. Final payment can also be made by credit card (Visa or Mastercard) or bank transfer, but these methods do not qualify for the final payment discount.
