Travellers gather in Toronto for our flight to Dublin.

Our Irish adventure begins with a warm greeting from our driver/guide in Dublin. We journey north to Belfast, a city shaped by its maritime heritage and modern revival. After settling into our hotel, we'll gather for a welcome dinner, a perfect chance to get to know our fellow travellers.

A guided tour of Belfast will take us from the Grand Opera House to the Stormont Buildings, passing many of its poignant and world-famous murals. Then, we’ll step inside the imposing walls of the Crumlin Road Gaol. During a self-guided visit, we will uncover 150 years of compelling history within this Victorian-era prison. No visit to Belfast is complete without a visit to the spectacular Titanic Belfast, where we'll explore ten immersive galleries and walk the decks of the SS Nomadic, the original tender ship.  

Our drive takes us through the Antrim coast, a spectacular coastal route renowned for its sweeping sea views, dramatic geological formations, and lush post-glacial valleys (the Glens of Antrim). Our destination is the Giant’s Causeway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here we will learn the myths and geology behind the 40,000 hexagonal basalt columns that tumble into the North Atlantic Ocean. After soaking in this natural wonder, we continue to the historic city of Londonderry/Derry to check in, freshen up, and enjoy dinner together.

Our morning begins at the Ulster American Folk Park in Omagh, an immersive open-air museum that vividly illustrates the moving stories of 18th- and 19th-century Irish emigration. Returning to Londonderry/Derry, enjoy a guided walking tour of the historic walled city, which is beautifully framed by its famous 17th-century fortifications, recognized as the only fully intact city walls in Northern Ireland.   

We visit Belleek Pottery for a private, behind-the-scenes look at how skilled artisans have crafted its famous fine china since 1857. At the National Museum of Country Life, we discover the fascinating story of rural Irish life from 1850 to 1950. This comprehensive museum invites us to explore engaging exhibitions highlighting traditional trades, local crafts, and domestic life, all framed by the beautiful grounds of the estate. 

Castlecourt Hotel (2 nights) 

A spectacular drive awaits today on our way to Kylemore Abbey, one of Ireland’s most romantic landmarks, nestled on the edge of a tranquil lake. Here, we will have time to explore the Abbey's elegant interior, the beautiful neo-Gothic Church, and the timeless six-acre Victorian Walled Garden.

A delightful morning cruise awaits on Lough Corrib, the Republic of Ireland’s largest lake. We'll take in stunning views of the Connemara mountains and the magnificent Ashford Castle. Back on land, the day continues to the vibrant city of Galway. After free time for lunch, our guide will lead us on a walking tour through the city's winding streets, introducing us to its colourful history and bustling arts scene. This evening is highlighted by a medieval banquet at the iconic Bunratty Castle, where we'll enjoy dinner and wine while being entertained by traditional Irish music, song, and dance in the castle's Great Hall.

Travel along the Wild Atlantic Way to the village of Doolin, where you'll board a ferry to Inis Oirr, the smallest of the Aran Islands. After a guided walk exploring its unique stone-walled fields and beaches, the return cruise offers a truly special perspective of the Cliffs of Moher. From the water, we will grasp the colossal scale of these world-famous cliffs, which soar up to 214 metres (702 feet) from the Atlantic. Back on land, we will experience their majesty again from the top, walking the paved pathways of the Visitor Centre for panoramic views that make this one of Ireland’s most cherished landmarks.

MAY 8, Saturday     DINGLE PENINSULA / KILLARNEY
We prepare for a day of breathtaking landscapes as we explore the Dingle Peninsula, a region renowned for some of Ireland's most dramatic coastal scenery. Our journey traces the rugged shoreline where towering cliffs and emerald hills meet the Atlantic Ocean. Along the way, we will enjoy a sheepdog demonstration, witnessing these highly intelligent animals work in harmony with their handler. Later, we continue to the vibrant town of Killarney. After dinner, gather in a cozy, traditional pub for a captivating evening of Irish storytelling.  

Brook Lodge Hotel (2 nights) 

The iconic Ring of Kerry is one of Ireland’s most celebrated scenic drives that circles the rugged Iveragh Peninsula. This dramatic journey introduces us to the quintessential charm of southwest Ireland, where majestic mountain passes give way to pristine shorelines. After absorbing the sheer scale of these Atlantic views, our exploration turns toward the historic estate of Muckross Farms. This evocative living museum beautifully replicates Irish country life from the 1930s. We can walk through traditional cottages, visit the blacksmith working at his forge, and learn a few phrases of the native Irish language from the welcoming hosts. 

Our journey brings us to the legendary Blarney Castle, a formidable medieval stronghold famed for its fabled Stone of Eloquence. Here, you can kiss the legendary stone, a time-honoured tradition said to bestow the "gift of the gab" upon all who dare. After exploring the beautiful estate grounds, we travel to Kilkenny to visit Malzards. This welcoming local pub offers an authentic glimpse into the warm heart of Irish community life. Here, we enjoy a relaxed opportunity to connect with the residents, share stories, and gently learn about the ancient national sport of hurling through a light, fun introduction. 

River Court Hotel (1 night)

We depart today for the town of Kildare to visit the prestigious Irish National Stud, a thoroughbred horse breeding facility that offers an exceptional look into the heart of Ireland’s equestrian heritage. While exploring the estate, we will view some of Ireland’s finest thoroughbred stallions, learn about the fascinating history of horse racing at the interactive museum, and take a peaceful stroll through the Japanese Gardens. The final leg of our journey brings us to Dublin, Ireland's vibrant capital. 

Trinity City Hotel (3 nights)

Get ready to embrace the unique character of Dublin with a panoramic tour showcasing the elegant Georgian squares, the famous Spire on O'Connell Street, and the River Liffey. The tour includes a visit to the historic St. Patrick's Cathedral, the final resting place of Jonathan Swift, author of Gulliver's Travels. Next, visit the Guinness Storehouse, home of the famous "black stuff." On a self-guided visit, you'll learn the story behind Ireland's brew before enjoying a perfectly poured pint in the Gravity Bar, which offers spectacular 360-degree views over Dublin. 

A morning drive brings us to the magnificent Powerscourt Estate, where we'll admire some of the finest gardens in Europe. Discover the striking beauty of the formal Italian Garden, walk the winding paths of the Japanese Garden, and marvel at the incredible variety within the Walled Garden. After lunch, return to Dublin for a free afternoon. For our farewell evening, we gather one last time at the popular Merry Ploughboy Pub. It's the perfect setting to raise a glass with new friends, and enjoy a fantastic dinner accompanied by a high-spirited show of Irish music, song, and dance.  

All too soon, our journey must draw to a close as we say farewell to our Irish friends and fly home to Canada.
