DEPART CANADA

September 26, 2027

Tour members from across Canada depart for Bergen, Norway.

BERGEN - EMBARKATION

September 27, 2027

There is no better place to begin an intimate fjord cruise than Bergen. Often called the Gateway to the Fjords, this beautiful port began as a small village and is today Norway’s second-largest city. Upon arrival we transfer to the ship for embarkation. Once aboard, we are welcomed by the Expedition Team, and we set sail toward the majestic fjords of Norway.

***MS Trollfjord - 7 nights***

Dinner

KVINNHERADSFJORD - ROSENDAL

September 28, 2027

Today, we cruise into the striking Kvinnheradsfjord, a historic farmer and trader route defined by ancient glaciers and plunging waterfalls. Nestled within this landscape is Rosendal, a picturesque village framed by orchards and the white peaks of the Folgefonna Glacier. While ashore, walk the serene grounds of the 17th-century Barony Rosendal (Norway’s only manor house of its kind), visit local art galleries, or learn about regional geology at the National Park Centre before returning onboard.

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

LYSEFJORD – STAVANGER

September 29, 2027

The dramatic Lysefjord is a breathtaking waterway known as the “fjord of light” due to its pale granite walls. From the deck, we will admire sheer cliffs soaring over 3,000 feet and look out for Preikestolen, the iconic Pulpit Rock plateau. Later, we dock in Stavanger, a vibrant coastal city blending Viking heritage with modern culture. We can wander the Old Town’s cobbled streets, lined with charming white wooden houses, inviting cafes, and galleries. We can also enjoy local seafood or browse shops for authentic Norwegian wool sweaters and local crafts.

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

HARDANGERFJORD - EIDFJORD

September 30, 2027

Our voyage continues into Hardangerfjord, a 179-kilometre waterway celebrated as the Queen of the Fjords. This region features gleaming glaciers, hillside villages, and lush orchards that have inspired renowned artists. Here, we visit the tranquil settlement of Eidfjord, framed by cliffs and rushing rivers, and rooted in the rich heritage of local farmers and fishermen. You may choose to explore the Hardangervidda Nature Centre, which serves as a gateway to Norway’s largest mountain plateau, or marvel at the cascading Vøringsfossen waterfall dropping into a misty gorge.

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

SOGNEFJORD - SKJOLDEN

October 1, 2027

Navigating deep into the Sognefjord, we discover why this 200-kilometre waterway is renowned as the King of the Fjords. We sail past glacier-carved cliffs to reach Skjolden at the innermost point. Surrounded by waterfalls and snow-capped peaks, this village offers a striking landscape that has attracted artists and scholars like Ludwig Wittgenstein seeking a quiet retreat. While here, we can visit the Jostedalsbreen Glacier, the largest in mainland Europe, or walk along beautiful valley trails leading to local farmsteads. Nearby sits the UNESCO-listed Urnes Stave Church, the oldest of its kind in the country, displaying intricate wooden carvings that merge Viking artistry with Christian symbolism. (BLD)

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

ÅLESUND

October 2, 2027

Our arrival in Ålesund introduces us to one of Norway’s most unique coastal destinations. Reconstructed following a devastating 1904 fire, the city is now celebrated for its Art Nouveau architecture. You may stroll along its cobbled streets and visit the Jugendstilsenteret Museum to understand the European design movements that influenced this northern hub. For panoramic views of the city and the Sunnmøre Alps, you may ascend the steps to Mount Aksla.

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

NORDFJORD - OLDEN

October 3, 2027

The approach to the Nordfjord is among the most scenic in Norway. Navigated by Viking longships, this sheltered inlet now offers a tranquil landscape dotted with charming red boathouses and lush forests. Here we find Olden, a laid-back village nestled beside the turquoise Oldeelva River and the Jostedalsbreen Glacier. While ashore, we have the opportunity to venture into the surrounding valleys to explore stunning glacial lakes and alpine viewpoints, or wander Olden’s waterfront.

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

BERGEN - DISEMBARKATION

October 4, 2027

After disembarking, we are welcomed back to Bergen with a guided walk through the bustling fish and flower markets and past the Romanesque St. Mary’s Church. We will tour through Bryggen, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its iconic, brightly painted wooden merchant buildings lining the waterfront. We conclude with a ride on the Fløibanen Funicular, offering spectacular views of the city and surrounding waterways. We then transfer to our hotel and settle in before our farewell dinner.
