Several site visits involve walking over rough, uneven surfaces, so members should be good walkers to fully enjoy the journey. Hotels in Iceland are clean and comfortable, with compact rooms reflecting the island’s simple lifestyle. Most are two stories and do not have elevators. As porters are not available, members must handle their own luggage. She did a backpacking trip throughout Europe, including venturing into Morocco and Turkey, followed by a solo backpacking trip around the world where she had the opportunity to work as a nurse for a short time in Australia. One of her most memorable experiences was climbing up the Annapurna Mountain range in Nepal to a height of 5400 meters.
