SINGLES LOOKING FOR ROOM
MATES We
often have requests from single traveller's who would like to save the
cost of single supplements by sharing a room with another single. When
we find singles who would like to share a room, we have them contact
each other and through their conversation, they determine if they feel
the other person is someone they would be compatible with. More often
than not, when singles agree to share, they end up friends and continue
to travel together on future tours and cruises. We currently have
singles looking for shares on the following departures:

YOUR COMMENTS Our Egyptian guides did an OUTSTANDING job!! Every detail
and wish that you could possibly have was anticipated and executed to
perfection. Walid and Hesham even took all the women shopping one
evening (quite impromptu and more than a little brave)!! Not only did we
have great fun, it was one of those little (but really not so little)
ways in which they were gracious hosts and so accommodating &
generous with their time. Their actions and words showed that they love
their country and love what they do - evidenced by sharing their
knowledge and time with us, always with warmth, kindness and a fantastic
sense of humour. They became a part of our group. From a strictly
self-indulgent level - the hotels & food were fabulous too! I mean
how could you not love the Movenpick resort or Conrad Cairo hotel? There
were evenings I certainly didn't need to take a second bath or shower,
but when your hotel bathtub is so luxurious and 4 times the size of the
one you have at home - how can you resist?! But even the Monastery in
its simplicity was fantastic - staying in a more rustic surrounding just
added to the whole experience. With such beauty all around you, I would
do it again in a heartbeat! Everyone in the group hit it off and we
had so much fun spending time together. I was one of only two people in
the group travelling on my own, but I never felt excluded or out of
place. JS |

ANNUAL
NEWFOUNDLAND & LABRADOR TOUR - AN 'AUTHENTIC' EXPERIENCE
We are
thrilled to offer this annual favourite and to be operating this
program with McCarthy's Party, a family operation based in St. John's,
Newfoundland with whom we have worked for many years. McCarthy's
expertise, attention to detail and East Coast hospitality are reason's
why this tour is an annual sellout and we invite you to join us on this
year's tour, August 4 - 15. Committed to providing you with an
authentic experience, you will be offered an experience of total
immersion - Newfoundland and Labrador style; visiting with the locals,
chatting with fishermen, whale watching, puffin and iceberg sighting,
experiencing the culture... learning about the way of life, the language
of the sea and the songs of the ocean. What an incredible
adventure…right in our own backyard! Book early as we only offer one
departure each year!

OBERAMMERGAU INTERESTING FACTS
Animals
on Stage Besides the more than 2250 citizens of Oberammergau
involved in the Passion Play there are also animals participating in the
Play! One donkey, a horse, sheep, doves and chickenS can be counted.
You might wonder how the animals get into the theatre - animals are
taken into the theater via a special wooden ramp placed in the back of
the theater. The stage itself is one hundred and thirty-eight feet
across and hence big enough for all the performers whether humans or
animals.
Actor's Bio – Barbara Dobner alias Mary Magdalene Barbara
Dobner, 23 years old and born in Oberammergau, had her first
performance in the year 1990 in the crowd scene just like in the year
2000. Moreover she performed Maria in the 2000 Passion Play for
children. In everyday life she is taking courses in business studies at
the University of Kempten. Since February 2010 she is even taking a
semester off to fully concentrate on the Passion Play. After graduating
she would like to work in the marketing or human resources industry.
During her free time she is a passionate skier and also interested in
politics. She was running for the youth council elections in
Oberammergau. More

THE BEST OF
IRELAND
Each year, we
operate several tours to the enchanted isle of Ireland, a destination
which never seems to lose its popularity. Our indepth itinerary of both
the north and south of the country travels at a leisurely pace, with 2
or 3 nights in most of the centres visited. This year, we have two
September dates from which to choose. One of many highlights is always
our guide, Willie Cusker, an extremely knowledgeable and humourous
ambassador for his country and one of the highest rated guides in our
passenger reviews. Experience a medieval banquet in a fabulous
castle, a special Irish folk performance by the National Folk theatre, a
visit to the Giant's Causeway and one to the Maam Valley where
black-headed sheep make up a large part of the population! Join us for a
truly memorable and fun adventure to this delightful land of the green!

SHIP'S FILL EARLY IN 2010
The
cruise bargains which many enjoyed last year appear to have gone by the
wayside as cruise lines fill staterooms well into 2010 and early 2011.
We are seeing the ships sell out much earlier this year than in the
past year and a half. Our May Alaska and Bermuda cruises and most river
cruises are completely sold out and if anyone is thinking of Alaska,
Europe, the Mediterranean or Bermuda for this year - we suggest you BOOK
NOW for availability and the best group pricing. Our group rates
represent exceptional value as most of our contracts were negotiated at
least a year in advance and are generally several hundred dollars less
than the best offers currently available. Cruise lines are taking back
unsold group space much earlier because of higher demand, which means
that booking late does not ensure the best rates. This appears to be
the case with cruise lines across the board, regardless of whether they
are budget, mid-range or deluxe. Best advice - choose your cruise, then
reserve your space right away, so as not to be disappointed. Visit
our website to view the group sailings for which we currently have
space.

AN OLYMPIC THANK YOU
A
note left for Canadians by NBC's Brian Williams before he left Vancouver
after the Olympics…. "After tonight's broadcast and after
looting our hotel mini-bars, we're going to try to brave the blizzard
and fly east to home and hearth, and to do laundry well into next week.
Before we leave this thoroughly polite country, the polite thing to do
is leave behind a thank-you note. Thank you, Canada: For being
such good hosts. For your unfailing courtesy. For your (mostly)
beautiful weather. For scheduling no more than 60 percent of your
float plane departures at the exact moment when I was trying to say
something on television. For not seeming to mind the occasional (or
constant) good-natured mimicry of your accents. For your unique TV
commercials -- for companies like Tim Hortons -- which made us laugh and
cry. For securing this massive event without choking security, and
without publicly displaying a single automatic weapon. For having the
best garment design and logo-wear of the games -- you've made wearing
your name a cool thing to do. For the sportsmanship we saw most of
your athletes display. For not honking your horns. I didn't hear one
car horn in 15 days -- which also means none of my fellow New Yorkers
rented cars while visiting. For making us aware of how many of you
have been watching NBC all these years. For having the good taste to
have an anchorman named Brian Williams on your CTV network, who turns
out to be such a nice guy. For the body scans at the airport which
make pat-downs and cavity searches unnecessary. For designing those
really cool LED Olympic rings in the harbor, which turned to gold when
your athletes won one. For always saying nice things about the United
States...when you know we're listening. For sharing Joannie Rochette
with us. For reminding some of us we used to be a more civil
society. Mostly, for welcoming the world with such ease and making
lasting friends with all of us."
